1. Who We Are

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Use (the “Terms”), our Privacy Policy.

2. Using the Service

Plotline is available worldwide, subject to local laws.
You must be 15 years or older to use the Service. If you are between 15 and 18, you confirm you have permission from a legal guardian.
Plotline may update these Terms at any time. If changes are significant, you will be notified. Continuing to use the Service means you accept the updated Terms.

3. Accounts

3.1 Creation

Some features (reviews, ratings, lists, follows) require an account. To create an account, you must provide a valid email address and password.

Plotline may refuse accounts created with fake or temporary emails.

3.2 One Account Per Person

Each person may create only one personal account. Creating multiple accounts or bypassing restrictions is prohibited.

3.3 Security

You are responsible for keeping your login information confidential. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact contact@plotline.fr.

3.4 Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from your settings or by email. Deletion is permanent. Some data may be kept temporarily in backups or as required by law.

3.5 Inactive Accounts

Accounts inactive for more than 6 months may be deleted after notification by email.

4. User Content & Community Rules

Users may publish reviews, ratings, lists and comments (“User Content”). You own the content you create, but you grant Plotline a non-exclusive worldwide licence to display and host it on the Service.

You agree not to post content that:

is illegal, hateful, violent, defamatory or discriminatory
includes harassment, spam or malware
infringes copyright or trademark rights
promotes criminal activity or terrorism
contains sexual or pornographic material
targets minors

Plotline may remove content or restrict access if the rules or the law are violated.

Users can report illegal or abusive content to contact@plotline.fr and it will be reviewed within a reasonable timeframe.

5. Recommendations & Algorithms

Plotline provides automatic recommendations for films and series based on activity such as ratings, likes, lists and preferences.

These recommendations:

are generated by automated systems,
may not always be accurate or neutral,
are provided for information only.

Users can reset or delete their data by deleting their account or contacting support.

6. Intellectual Property

The name Plotline, its logo, design, code, database, rankings and recommendations are the exclusive property of Plotline SAS.

Users may not:

copy or extract data,
scrape, crawl or index the Service,
reverse-engineer the code,
reuse data outside Plotline.

7. Advertising & Plotline Fan Subscription

7.1 Free Version

The free version of Plotline may display advertising. By using the Service, you accept that ads may appear.

7.2 Plotline Fan

Plotline offers an optional paid subscription with additional features such as ad-free experience.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
Plotline does not store credit-card data.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
You can cancel anytime in your account settings; access continues until the end of the current paid period.
Except where required by law, payments already made are not refundable.

8. Service Availability

Plotline is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

Plotline may modify, suspend or disable parts of the Service for maintenance, security or legal reasons. Temporary unavailability does not entitle Users to compensation.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plotline shall not be liable for indirect damages, loss of data or loss of profits. If Plotline is found liable, such liability will be limited to the amounts paid by the User for the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot be excluded by law (such as fraud, personal injury, or consumer rights).

10. Suspension or Closure

Plotline may suspend or terminate access if:

the Terms are violated,
illegal or abusive use is detected,
security is threatened,
required by law.

Users may delete their account at any time.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service may include links to external services (e.g., Stripe, social platforms). Plotline is not responsible for their content or data practices. Users must comply with their respective terms.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in the User’s country of residence.

Before legal action, Users should try to resolve disputes by contacting contact@plotline.fr.

Users in the European Union may submit disputes to a consumer mediation service or through the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform.
